The Facilities

The Villa Filoreto is located on the outskirts of the village of Vižinada in Istria. Built in 2004 in the Istrian style, the villa has 4 spacious bedrooms for up to 8 people, each with their own modern bathroom/restroom, a balcony or terrace, air conditioning, TV and WiFi. The Villa Filoreto offers a breathtaking view of the Mirna valley and the picturesque mountain village of Motovun. The spacious and airconditioned living room comes with a fully equipped kitchen area, a TV and an open fireplace, which invites you to kick back and relax in the evenings. The beautifully designed outdoor area of the villa features a freshwater pool, deck chairs, a canopied terrace with seating area, and a large stone grill.

The Location

Vižinada

The small town of Vižinada is located in northwestern Istria, by the famous Parenzana.
Vižinada is home to abundant historical and cultural treasures, wineries and culinary delights. Off the beaten tourist path, here you’ll find all the amenities you need during your vacation. A local grocery store, a bar and a hairdresser are all found within walking distance from the villa. Wine lovers and fans of the Istrian cuisine get their money’s worth at the local restaurant (“Agroturizam”), located only a few minutes’ drive away. Larger towns with their beautiful beaches, like Poreč or Novigrad, can be reached by car in only 15 minutes.

The village of Vižinada also offers unique sights along the renovated Parenzana tracks, the former railway connecting Poreč and Trieste. 123 kilometers long, the route takes hikers and cyclists through lush forests, beautiful small towns, stone villages, hidden tunnels and solid viaducts. Marvel at the rich diversity of scenery and color to be found in this region.

The long-running recreational cycling marathon “Parenzana” is traditionally held on the last Sunday in September. Cyclists of all ages and skill-levels gather here. But it’s not the only race in the area—there are also professional hiking and mountain bike races.

Porec

Poreč is a tourist hotspot located on the western side of the largest of the Croatian Peninsulas, Istria. Poreč offers much more than just sea and sun. This town has 6000 years of history and is known for its culture, beautiful beaches and crystal-clear sea, for sporting events and numerous restaurants, cafés, bars and clubs.
There are several beaches surrounding Poreč. These are rocky or shingle beaches.
A short walk north from the town center will lead you to a dog-friendly beach (marked with a sign). The northern path continues to run along beaches and small bays, beach bars, a children’s playground and various sport facilities. You’ll find numerous beaches and bays on the southern side of town too. There is even a beach with a fun water slide, perfect for children!
